Özyeğin University retained its status as the top foundation university in Türkiye in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, a distinction it has held every year since 2019. Among 1,745 universities from 105 countries included in this year’s ranking, OzU placed 89th globally, further strengthening its international standing in sustainability.
The UI GreenMetric ranking assesses universities across six key categories, including Setting and Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation, and Education. OzU topped the 2025 rankings in recognition of its systematic approach to reducing environmental impact, robust data monitoring practices, and exceptional performance in green spaces, renewable energy, and sustainable transportation.
As the youngest foundation university in Türkiye to rank among the top 100 out of 1,745 universities worldwide, OzU continues to raise the benchmark for global sustainability in higher education through its sustainable campus management and academic initiatives.
