The dedication and hard work of OzU students and our Athletic Center team continue to yield remarkable results. Our students consistently make us proud with their outstanding achievements both in Türkiye and across the world, positioning OzU at the forefront of university sports.
The 2025 Fall semester brought fresh highlights to OzU’s growing list of achievements, adding to an already impressive record of success:
- Nisa Özsoy, a junior student in the International Relations Department, won European silver medals in both the Snowboard Giant Slalom and Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom categories.
- OzU’s Sailing Team claimed second place nationally, further strengthening the University’s competitive standing.
OzU Makes Its Mark at the Turkish University Sports Federation Awards
OzU once again stood out for its athletic excellence at the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF) Promotion and Awards Night, held for the first time in October to celebrate the International Day of University Sports.
On the national stage, OzU’s results spoke for themselves, with top rankings across key performance categories:
- 8th nationwide among universities with the highest participation in athletic activities,
- 7th nationwide in total medals won, and
- 8th nationwide in athlete participation, represented by an impressive 350 student-athletes.
OzU Secures Full Membership in the European University Sports Association (EUSA)
OzU’s growing presence on the European stage reached a significant milestone with the confirmation of its full membership in the European University Sports Association (EUSA). Following provisional acceptance in late 2023, the decision was finalized at the EUSA General Assembly held in October 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia, making OzU one of only four universities from Türkiye to receive full membership.
On the competitive front, OzU continues to make its mark at EUSA championships, where the University currently ranks third among medal-winning institutions, a clear reflection of its rising impact and sustained excellence in European university sports.
