One of Türkiye’s most iconic and prestigious events in tourism and gastronomy has become a cherished tradition. This year, the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University successfully hosted the 13th edition of the “Sectoral Meeting,” once again bringing together the leading brands of the hospitality and gastronomy sectors on the Çekmeköy Campus.
The event connected undergraduate students from the Hotel Management and the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts programs with senior executives from 55 of Türkiye’s leading hotel and restaurant brands. For students, this meeting represented more than internship or job opportunities. It marked a strategic starting point for their career journeys.
Students Charting Their Path Forward
Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to interact directly with industry leaders, gaining firsthand insight into sector expectations, professional development opportunities, and diverse career paths. The event also drew strong participation from Özyeğin University alumni, creating a vibrant exchange between alumni and students.
Prof. Gökhan Özertan, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, highlighted the significance of these meetings as follows:

Associate Dean Prof. Özge Samancı described the initiative as a career laboratory: “Now in its 13th year, this event provides our students with not only employment opportunities but also vision.
