We see artificial intelligence as a fundamental transformational infrastructure reshaping many areas, from economic systems and urban life to production processes and decision-making mechanisms. For this reason, at Özyeğin University, we position AI research not merely as the subject of a single discipline but as an interdisciplinary research focus encompassing engineering, business, the social sciences, and sustainability.
Interdisciplinary Research and Education in AI
Today, researchers from multiple faculties across the university are actively conducting AI-related studies. These efforts focus not only on data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics, but also on applications in sectors such as finance, logistics, agriculture, sustainable cities, and energy. At the same time, we are rapidly integrating AI into our educational programs so that our students become not only users of this transformation but also its developers and leaders.

An important component of this approach is the OzU AI Platform, which brings together academics, industry leaders, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Through this platform, we aim to ensure that AI research translates into real-world impact by fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical implementation.
Expanding the AI Research Ecosystem
As part of our efforts to strengthen the visibility and impact of our research, we are also launching the OzU AI Research Series, a new initiative designed to share cutting-edge academic work and foster dialogue around emerging topics in artificial intelligence. The series builds on the momentum of our OzU AI Platform gathering on February 6, 2026, where academia and industry leaders met to discuss the transformative role of AI, its economic impact, and its implications for organizational change. Bringing together researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders, the OzU AI Research Series aims to explore the latest developments in AI, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to the broader AI knowledge ecosystem.
