EU Awards €1.5 Million to ReBuild-3D Project Coordinated by Özyeğin University

Coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Zeynep Başaran Bundur, the ReBuild-3D Project aims to strengthen Özyeğin University’s international research capacity in circular economy, low-carbon construction materials, and digital manufacturing. The project brings together SINTEF from Norway, CARTIF from Spain, Belgium-based Metabuilding Association and Circular Intelligence Association (CINTEL), and İMSAD from Türkiye. The research will explore key areas of sustainable construction technology, including the development of next-generation concrete using construction and demolition waste, AI-enabled manufacturing processes, life-cycle assessment, and digital product passports. Upon completion, the project aims to integrate Özyeğin University’s 3D Concrete Printing Laboratory into an international testing network and position it as a regional research and validation center.
