International Recognition for Occupational Health and Safety
This year, our University’s commitment to occupational health and safety received international recognition as we became the only university in Türkiye to earn the MERIT distinction in the International Safety Awards 2026, one of the world’s prestigious programs recognizing excellence in occupational health and safety. As the only university in Türkiye to receive the distinction this year, the University also advanced from last year’s PASS level to MERIT, marking a significant step forward in its commitment to occupational health and safety.
At our University, occupational health and safety extends far beyond regulatory compliance. It is an integral part of our commitment to creating a safer, healthier, and more sustainable campus environment for our students, employees, and the broader University community. Our ongoing efforts to proactively manage risks, expand preventive measures, and foster a strong culture of safety continue to strengthen our people-centered approach to campus life. This distinction affirms our belief that safety is more than a standard; it is an institutional culture of continuous improvement.
